Kinsale Arts Week 2012

At the invitation of Gemma Tipton, Director of Kinsale Arts Week 2012, A2 Architects were asked to organise a number of architecture workshops, lectures and events for all ages over the course of the two days. Given Kinsale’s seaside setting and vibrant agricultural hinterland, A2 Architects chose ‘JellyFest’ as a light, summery theme exploring the relationship between food and architecture. An up-lit wobbly jelly model of Kinsale atop a low perspex base was made over the course of the weekend to explore what Kinsale is and can become (to be populated with gummi bears, pastilles and snakes and eventually eaten when built of course!)
